How Distractions Benefit Creativity

I am a BIG fan of TED Talks. For those of you who have not yet discovered this marvelous free resource for inspiration, TED is a nonprofit that captures talks of 18 minutes or less on a variety of interesting and thought-provoking topics. No matter what you’re area of interest, there is probably a TED Talk or a dozen on it.

I watched one recently that sparked a tiny epiphany of sorts about the benefits of distractions to the creative processes. I won’t repeat the details – the speaker does a much more effective job explaining it completely than I could summarizing it. Give it a listen!
